The traditional favourite food of West Bengal is Rice and Fish. The world-famous sweet Roshogolla also has a West Bengal origin.

Durga Puja is the largest, and the most famous festival celebrated in West Bengal. Cricket and Football are the most popular sports in the state. In India, Kolkata is considered as one of the major centres for Football. The 1987 Cricket World Cup final was hosted in West Bengal. West Bengal has large stadiums like the Eden Gardens and the Salt Lake Stadium.
Darjeeling, the Ganges Delta the Rarh region and the coastal Sundarbans are all located in West Bengal. The Siliguri Corridor, also known as the Chicken’s Neck that connects the northeastern states to the rest of India, is also found in West Bengal.
